Capital Chennai is known for beaches and landmarks including 1644 colonial Fort St. George.
Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival Madurai
Upon your arrival at Madurai Airport or Madurai Railway Station in the early morning, you will be greeted by our local tour representative.
Later transfers to the hotel, check in to the hotel. Madurai is among the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities and is well-known around the world for its stunning Hindu temple architecture.
Take some rest before we visit the marvellous Meenakshi Amman Temple (opens from 05:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and closes from 12:30 p.m. to 04:00 p.m.). Pray to the Goddess and discover the enthralling art of stone figures so elaborately designed on Gopurams.
From there, visit other top attractions of the cities that may include Thirumalai Nayak Palace, Koodal Azhagar Temple and Alagar Koil Temple.
Later back to the hotel for an overnight stay in Madurai.
Day 2
Madurai - Tiruchirappalli
After breakfast, depart for Tiruchirappalli (Trichy), which is approximately 135 kilometers away and takes about 2-3 hours by road. On the way visit Viralimalai Murugan Temple.
Check in to your hotel in Tiruchirappalli.
Visit prominent temples in Tiruchirappalli, including the Thiruvanaikoil Temple, Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple , Vekkali Amman Temple, Samayapuram Amman Temple and the Rockfort Ucchi Pillayar Temple.
Return back to the Hotel.
Overnight stay in Tiruchirappalli.
Day 3
Tiruchirappalli - Kumbakonam Sightseeing - Thanjavur
After breakfast, depart for Kumbakonam.
Visit significant temples and heritage sites in Kumbakonam.
Kumbeshwarar Temple: Visit the Kumbeshwarar Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is known for its Mahamaham Tank. You can explore the temple and the tank's surroundings.Chakrapani Temple: Proceed to the Chakrapani Temple, another ancient and significant Vaishnavite temple in the town.
Sarangapani Temple: Start your Kumbakonam exploration by visiting the Sarangapani Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It's one of the Divya Desams and showcases Dravidian architecture.
Airavatesvara Temple: Head to the Airavatesvara Temple in Darasuram, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This temple is renowned for its intricate sculptures and stunning architecture.
Mahamaham Tank: Explore the Mahamaham Tank in the heart of Kumbakonam. It's a sacred tank and is particularly important during the Mahamaham festival.
Continue your journey to Thanjavur.
Check in to your accommodation in Thanjavur.
Explore the Brihadeeswarar Temple and other historical sites in Thanjavur.
Visit Bangaru Kamakshi Amman Temple, then back to the hotel.
Overnight stay in Thanjavur.
Day 4
Departure
After breakfast, depart from Thanjavur to Madurai Airport or Railway Station(Approximately 200-220 km, 3.5-4 hours) for your departure.
