Vietnam is a Southeast Asian country known for its beaches, rivers, Buddhist pagodas and bustling cities. Hanoi, the capital, pays homage to the nation’s iconic Communist-era leader, Ho Chi Minh, via a huge marble mausoleum. Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon) has French colonial landmarks, plus Vietnamese War history museums and the Củ Chi tunnels, used by Viet Cong soldiers.
DAY 1: HO CHI MINH CITY ARRIVAL
On arrival at Ho Chi Minh City, we will be greeted and driven to our hotel in the city centre. We will be free to wander around the hustle and bustle city. Before dinner, we enjoy one hour to enjoy Water puppet show in the Golden Theatre. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.DAY 2: CU CHI TUNNELS & HO CHI MINH CITY TOUR
This morning, we drive to Cu Chi Tunnels and explore the maze of tunnels, some of which have been widened to allow tourist access. We will also see the remains of an American tank as well as numerous bomb craters made by 500lb bombs dropped by B52 bombers.We then return to the city for lunch. After lunch, we visit the Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post Office, the two sites that we can’t ignore when we visit the city. The rest of the day will be free for shopping at the lively Ben Thanh Market. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
DAY 3: HO CHI MINH CITY – MEKONG DELTA (MY THO)
Today, we will drive to the Mekong Delta and take the boat ride on small canals to visit some local cottage industries, fruit orchards, a coconut candy workshop, a honeybee farm, take a sampan ride on palm-shaded creeks, try a taste of seasonal fruit, honey tea, and enjoy a performance of traditional Southern singing. Later of the day, we return to Ho Chi Minh City for dinner and overnight stay.DAY 4: HO CHI MINH CITY DEPARTURE
Free time for shopping or at leisure until our car arrives to take us to the airport for departure flight. Tour ends.
