In a cave within a forested mountain rising steeply above Katra, the Vaishno Devi Shrine was popularised in the 1990s songs of Gulshan Kumar, and has since become one of India's busiest pilgrim sites. These days it attracts millions of domestic visitors, though the appeal is a little hard to understand for most non-Hindus.
Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrive at Jammu/Katra (45kms/ 2hrs drive)
On arrival at the Airport in Jammu or Railway Station in Jammu or katra, meet our representative for transfer to Katra-Hotel. Check in to the hotel and explore local temples or market & overnight stay at the Hotel.Day 2 - Katra � Maa Vaishno Devi Darshan
After breakfast start your Holy Journey of Darshan to Maa Vaishnodevi. The base camp Katra, is located at an altitude of 2500 feet above the sea level; whereas Mata's Bhawan is located at 5200 feet. The visit to the holy shrine within the folds of Trikuta Mountain, via helicopter is just a start of this ecstatic and thrilling journey. Evening return back to Katra & overnight stay at the Hotel.Day 3 - Katra � Patnitop (60 kms / approx 2 � hours)
After breakfast check out from Katra and drive to Patnitop, the only hill station of Jammu district. On arrival, check into your hotel. Patnitop is a distortion of the original name of �Patan Da Talab� meaning �Pond of the Princess�. In olden times a pond existed in the meadows and the king�s princess often used to have her bath there. Rest of the day is at leisure to explore the nearby areas on foot or pony back (on direct payment) & overnight stay will be in the hotel
Day 4 � Patnitop
After breakfast, day free for personal activities. One can experience the beauty of Sanasar Valley, which is at a distance of 20kms, approx 1 hr drive (on additional charges and subject to weather conditions) & overnight at Hotel.
Day 5 - Patnitop � Jammu (115 kms / approx 4 � hours)
Today after breakfast Check out from the hotel & transfer to Jammu airport to board the return flight with Happy Memories!
